About

Jet Airways has placed the order for the 777s on 29th September 2005.
Originally, the order was for 77Ws and 77Ls, but later they decided just to order 77Ws.
Thus switching the order for 77Ls to more 77W orders.
"The combination of the 777-300ER's positive economics and passenger comfort will help ensure the success and profitability of our growing route structure." said Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal during the ceremony of Jet's 1st 777 delivery (delivery flight PAE-BRU-DEL).

Some 777s were leased out to other airlines: Gulf Air (2009), Turkish Airlines (2008-11 & 13-14) and
Thai (2010-13). Etihad operated some of Jet Airways' 777s from 2014 to 2016.
