Here you can clearly see the raked wingtip and also the mighty GE90-115B.

Introduction

The 77W is the fourth model of the 777 family. The 77W was launched together with the 77L as the "Longer Range" 777s (aka: 777X) in February 2000.
The 77W expands the twin-jet efficiency, capabilities and reliability to the longer range market.
Around 35% of the parts for the 77W were changed from its earlier stablemates.
- 6.5 feet raked wingtips - improving overall aerodynamic effiency, reducing takeoff-field length, increase climb rate, and saving fuel,
- some main structural components such as wing, body or empennage are strengthened,
- an improved "TSP"-system (tail-strike-protection) was introduced,
and also the space between top-of-cabin and the fuselage crown is now used for the crew members restrooms (flight deck/ cabin). This feature makes more seats available to the airline to make money with.

First Flight, Test Programm and Certification

Ceremonial rollout of the first 777-300ER, took place on November 14, 2002.
Flight testing of it began in early 2003. During this program Boeing has announced several increased capabilities of the 300ER, extending its range and payload. Those improvements are the results of extraordinary performances during test flights, combined with an engine efficiency beyond the expected and some changes to the design to reduce drag and weight.
